Imagine Playground | Dublin, CA

Imagine Playground is a winner! The City of Dublin's Imagine Playground earned an Award of Excellence from the California Parks and Recreation Society (CPRS).

The project was a collaborative effort with the City of Dublin and Specified Play Equipment Co. that began in late 2018. It involved a comprehensive outreach process that included a number of individuals and organizations throughout the region who work with people with special needs, including Dublin Unified School District special education teachers, sports field user groups, Little League Challenger Baseball, and the School of Imagination.

Open to the public on March 6, 2021, Imagine Playground is the region's first “all-abilities” playground, offering state-of-the-art play equipment for ages 2-12, fitness equipment for ages 13+, adult fitness equipment, outdoor music for all ages, and beautiful site furnishings throughout. Imagine Playground fills a much-desired and needed gap in the local park system. The City and design team committed to designing a park that was not only an All-Abilities destination for residents to play freely, but also served as a guidepost for the greater Bay Area. Parks are often the heart of their surrounding communities. Throughout the process, our team remained focused on creating an inclusive space for all to enjoy, regardless of age or ability.
